We Missionary Baptists have always followed the teachings of baptism as defined in the Bible. Therefore, we take the position that baptism that does not meet the Biblical definition is not baptism.
The word baptism can be translated as "immersion." However, simply immersing a believer in water is insufficient as a condition for Biblically correct baptism. The preacher Apollos baptized his Ephesian disciples (believers) by immersion, but it was not a proper baptism. Therefore, when the apostle Paul baptized again, the Holy Spirit fell on his disciples.
This booklet is based on the article ``The Ephesian disciples who were mistakenly baptized by the preacher Apollos were re-baptized by the apostle Paul'' in Acts 18-19. What is baptism in the Bible? will be revealed.
This booklet is not only helpful in explaining the need for rebaptism to those wishing to transfer from other denominations, but also for believers to learn the correct doctrine of baptism.
